Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service carefully. They govern your access to and use of the Verid Weather website, forecasts, APIs, and other services provided by Verid Weather, Inc. By using our services you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services. We provide weather forecasts and related information to help planning and decision-making. Forecasts are probabilistic by nature and are provided for informational purposes. Where customers receive paid services or contractual guarantees, the applicable agreement between Verid Weather and that customer will supplement or modify these Terms.
1. Scope of services
Verid Weather operates forecasting services, alerting systems, data feeds, and APIs. The scope of each service is described in product documentation and any applicable subscription or service agreement. Free public forecasts and content are provided as-is. Paid services such as API access, enterprise feeds, and custom integrations are subject to additional terms set out in separate agreements which prevail to the extent of any conflict. Verid Weather reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable. Changes that materially affect service availability for paid customers will be communicated in advance according to the terms of the relevant service-level agreement.
2. User obligations and acceptable use
Users must provide accurate contact and billing information when required and keep login credentials secure. Use of the services must comply with applicable laws and must not be fraudulent, harmful, or infringe third-party rights. Automated access is permitted only where the user holds valid credentials and complies with rate limits, usage quotas, and API terms. You will not attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, or degrade service operations. Abuse, scraping beyond permitted endpoints, or attempts to circumvent usage controls may result in suspension. If Verid Weather detects suspicious activity or a security risk, we may take reasonable measures to protect systems and data, including throttling or blocking traffic and notifying affected parties where appropriate.
3. Intellectual property
Verid Weather and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the service, underlying models, software, trademarks, and content, except for any user-provided content. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the forecasts and data in accordance with these Terms and any applicable service agreement. You may display and distribute forecast content or visualizations created using our APIs in accordance with usage guidelines and attribution requirements set out in documentation or agreements. Prohibited uses include creating competing data services by wholesale redistribution of raw products unless expressly permitted under a license. Where customers receive licensed datasets or tailored feeds under contract, the license terms set in the contract govern permitted uses, redistribution, and retention rights.
4. Payments, billing, and refunds
Paid services are billed as described in order forms or subscription pages. Payment terms, renewal, and cancellation policies are set out in the applicable agreement. Customers agree to pay all fees specified and to provide valid payment information. Failure to pay may result in suspension of services after reasonable notice. Refunds are provided only as set out in the service agreement or at Verid Weather's discretion. Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the customer. For trial offerings, access ends at the close of the trial period unless a paid plan is selected. Enterprise agreements may set different billing cycles and cancellation provisions; contractual terms will govern in case of inconsistency with this section.
5. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Weather forecasts and alerts are inherently uncertain. Verid Weather makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate information but does not guarantee results. All services are provided "as is" and to the maximum extent permitted by law Verid Weather disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, Verid Weather's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the services is limited to the amount paid by the customer to Verid Weather in the twelve months preceding the claim. In no event will Verid Weather be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, or loss of data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not permit limitation of liability; where prohibited, liability will be limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
6. Privacy and data handling
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share personal data. By using the services you consent to the data practices described in that policy. For enterprise integrations, data processing agreements may specify roles, responsibilities, security measures, and transfer mechanisms. Users should only submit information they are authorized to share and be mindful of sharing personal data in public content. If you require specific contractual privacy or data protection provisions, contact us to discuss tailored terms before transmitting sensitive information.
7. Suspension, termination, and refunds
Verid Weather may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, unlawful conduct, failure to pay, or actions that threaten service security. Termination does not relieve obligations outstanding at the time of termination, including payment for services already rendered. Upon termination, customer access to paid feeds and APIs will cease, and any data retention or deletion will follow the applicable agreement and our Privacy Policy. Customers may cancel subscriptions as described in billing terms. For enterprise contracts, termination rights and transition assistance will be governed by the contract. Where required by law, Verid Weather will provide account data to the customer upon request and in accordance with agreed formats and schedules.
8. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise specified in a separate agreement. For disputes not resolved by good faith negotiation, parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in San Francisco County, California, unless the applicable agreement provides an alternative dispute resolution process. Some customers, particularly enterprise clients, may have different governing law or dispute procedures established in their contracts. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes affecting existing paid customers, we will provide notice by email or as specified in the customer agreement. Continued use of the services after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using the services and, if applicable, follow the cancellation process in your agreement.
